The race is on for Range8, so take the Challenge on Sunday 20 August 2017 - taking in the best single track in Jubilee Park.

Only $35 flat rate per rider Entry Fee.  Junior teams only $20 per rider.


The Range8 course is set to take in the best of Jubilee’s single track and will be a challenging ride especially over 8 hours. With an estimated 3,500m of elevation for the top competitors, the Range8 is an individual challenge and a serious endurance event.  While we are expecting a number of solo competitors we have included a number of team categories to whet your appetite. If the solo challenge is not for you, than why not get a team together and share the load. Or if you want to take it a little easier - 4hr Challenge is set over a shorter course and only four hours. 

8 Hour Course

Teams can be made up of female or male or mixed.  Each member must complete at least one lap of the course.

4 Hour Course

  • Solo Female and Male
  • Team of 2 
  • Team of 4
  • Junior team of 2
  • Junior team of 4
Teams can be made up of female or male or mixed.  Each member must complete at least one lap of the course.
Junior teams are U17 as of 31st December 2017.  Junior teams entry is only $20 per rider.

Age restrictions apply in keeping with MTBA guidelines 



The TMBC Range8 is set for Sunday August 20

Sunday 20th August:

  • Registration from 7.15am
  • BBQ, Coffee & Drinks available all day
  • 8hr Race start from 8:00am
  • 4hr Race start 12:00noon
  • Course closed* 4.00pm
  • Presentations 4.15pm

(*any laps not completed within the 8hrs will not be counted)


Each rider must have the following equipment whilst on the course:

  • Serviceable mountain bike with brakes front and rear.  Bar ends must have plugs.
  • Australian Standards bicycle helmet
  • Water bottle or hydration pack
  • Nutrition

Refuelling Stations

There will be a water station for emergency use at the marshal point at the Hyperlink turnaround.  You may leave personal supplies here.  No other caches will be allowed for environmental reasons.


There will be option for basic camping close to the site on the Friday & Saturday night. Port-a-loos will be provided but otherwise you need to be self sufficient.  Sites are $10 with the money to go to the land owner. 


Teams are only allowed to swap riders in the designated transition area. Riders must tag each other before leaving/entering the transition area.


The race HQ is located in Jubliee Park at the end of Amos Rd, Withcott. Toilets and facilities are provided and the Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club will provide the BBQ, snacks and drinks for sale during the event. Coffee will be available in the morning.

Congratulations to all the new 2017 TMBC Executive. Please help them where you can to continue to make our club the best club in Toowoomba. President : Michael Illing, Vice President: Mitch Thompson, Treasurer: Morgan Whiting, Secretary: Mark Joy, Trail Co-coordinator: Brett Cotter, DH Rep Sam Reeves, Female Development: Kate Craft, XC Rep Terry Martin, Marketing and Media Phil Craft.

Tonight saw the outgoing 2016 Executive present the Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club Strategic Plan 2016 – 2020. It outlined the following areas:

Planning and Governance – Partnering to establish a strong and coordinated approach to mountain bike across the Toowoomba region
Infrastructure Development Planning – Constructing and maintaining a network of iconic, world class and sustainable trails, facilities and infrastructure throughout the Toowoomba region
Destination Trails – Establish iconic, ‘destination’ mountain bike trails that increase overnight visitors to the Toowoomba Region.

The trail development plan outlines the trails and supporting infrastructure to transform the Jubilee MTB park into a ‘must visit’ destination for mountain bikers and a world class facility for staging mountain bike events. Key features of the trail development plan include: 
- Approximately 40kms of new singletrack trail network (over 60kms in total)
- New trail head facilities and amenities
- A convention centre and club house
- A chairlift to ferry riders from the bottom of the escarpment.

Mountain Bike Australia - MTBA in conjunction with Toowoomba Region Council &  TMBC present the 2017 Oceania Continental MTB Championships.

This event also doubles as Round 4 of the 2017 DHI National Series & Round 7 of the 2017 XCO National Series for non-UCI categories.

The DHI and XCO Nationals are OPEN to all RIDERS - meaning you do not need to be a pro or team rider.

With the Oceania's to register and participate in this event, riders must hold a valid MTBA Race Membership, a valid UCI International Licence or purchase a Race Day Licence at the time of registering.

A MTBA Race Membership is a must have for all events

Parking – Yes – Gold Coin Donation
Camping – Yes - $10.00 

Pay the TMBC Parking volunteer on site – Amos Road.

This is private land – respect the space – clean-up – don’t spread out if camping. Make sure you chip in as this isn’t free to access for TMBC.

We appreciate the support of the land owner near Jubilee Park for allowing the club access once more.
