Tonight saw the outgoing 2016 Executive present the Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club Strategic Plan 2016 – 2020. It outlined the following areas:
Planning and Governance – Partnering to establish a strong and coordinated approach to mountain bike across the Toowoomba region
Infrastructure Development Planning – Constructing and maintaining a network of iconic, world class and sustainable trails, facilities and infrastructure throughout the Toowoomba region
Destination Trails – Establish iconic, ‘destination’ mountain bike trails that increase overnight visitors to the Toowoomba Region.
The trail development plan outlines the trails and supporting infrastructure to transform the Jubilee MTB park into a ‘must visit’ destination for mountain bikers and a world class facility for staging mountain bike events. Key features of the trail development plan include:
- Approximately 40kms of new singletrack trail network (over 60kms in total)
- New trail head facilities and amenities
- A convention centre and club house
- A chairlift to ferry riders from the bottom of the escarpment.
The stage is now set for the incoming TMBC Executive to set the path to make it happen! You can view and download the Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club Strategic Plan 2016 – 2020 here.
